ATTENTION South Harrow Landlord's - New Licencing Requirements

If your rented property is in the area shown in yellow (click here for an interactive map), then you will require a Selective Licence (unless the property is exempt).

We apologise for the short notice, however, Harrow Council have failed to inform us directly of this initiative. They may have informed you previously, as the landlord.

The cost of applying for the licence which will be valid for 5 years to Harrow Council is £550.00and a £75 discount for the first application will be given to landlords who are accredited.

Click here for further information on Harrow Council's Website.

Failing to have the correct licence for your property is a criminal offence which can lead to an unlimited fine, a civil penalty of up to £30,000, an order to repay up to 12 months rent and the inability to evict your tenants using a Section 21 Notice of Seeking Possession. It can all seem a bit daunting!

YOU NEED TO ACT NOW

Regardless of whether you would like us to assist with obtaining the licence or not, we urge you to comply with licensing requirements at the earliest opportunity. You can pay a small price for getting your property licensed or risk high reputational and financial penalties if you fail to act.

We can assist with our Property Licence Application Service!

Fortunately, help is at hand. We work alongside a specialist company who have developed a unique, hassle-free, one-stop-shop service to help you obtain the correct licence for your property.

They are experts when it comes to property licensing.

They start by discussing the basics to assess what type of licence you need. Once you have confirmed a booking, they will send you a property licence information pack that helps to explain the process and answer your questions.

They ask you for certain information required to complete the application and then arrange a
convenient date to visit your property and carry out an inspection. The inspection is carried out by an Independent Environmental Health Officer and they highlight any compliance issues for you to consider.

They provide simple, impartial and expert advice to help you understand and comply with the law.
If you do not have a measured floorplan (essential to accompany most applications), they can prepare one for you.

They then prepare the licence application together with the notifications forms that must be sent to all interested parties. Once the application is ready, they let you know the council’s licence application fee and highlight any discounts available. The application is then ready to be submitted.

Their service doesn’t stop there. You can contact them for advice by email or telephone throughout the application process, including any questions you have about the draft licence when it is issued. The council will give you at least 14 days to comment on the draft licence before it is finalised. If necessary, they can prepare a formal written representation on your behalf as an extra service.

We offer a competitive fixed-price service for handling your licence application from start to finish:
